A Celebration of Life service will be held at the First Christian Church in Medford on Friday, June 9. 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Bayard Cemetery near Deer Creek with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home Inc. of Medford.  Viewing will be 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023 with family present.  www.lanmanmemorials.com  Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Marian was born on August 10. 1928 in Newton, Kansas to Erhard Krehbiel and Marie Schroeder Krehbiel. She was baptized upon her confession of faith in the Deer Creek Mennonite Church.  She graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1946 and then attended Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas for two years.

Marian married Ramon Reimer on October 24, 1948.  To this union three sons were born: Delane, Bruce, and Krey.  She joined and actively served the Medford Mennonite Church for decades.  A consummate extravert, Marian never met a stranger.  She loved singing soprano in the church choir and regularly sang in a quartet as well.  Marin later became an active member of the First Christian Church in Medford.

Marian worked with Ramon on their farm and ranch operation.  Before starting their family, Marian would plow with one tractor and Ramon on the other tractor.  After their first wheat harvest, they purchased a pull combine, and Marian drove the tractor while Ramon operated the combine.  Their first three years of marriage were accompanied with three harvests that were nearly crop failures due to drought.  By God’s grace, their faithfulness, tenacity, and hard work led to an ever-growing and successful enterprise.

After retiring, Marian and Ramon volunteered periodically with several month-long service projects in five different states.  This was a very rewarding and enjoyable part of their retirement.   She also enjoyed reading with the extra time.

Marian loved to cook, bake, sew, and crochet.  All of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were beneficiaries of these avocations.  Each fall she donated many loaves of bread to the Mennonite Relief Sale.  Marian’s baking and sewing entries were frequent blue-ribbon winners at the Grant County Fair, and her raisin bread was a leading choice for many in the community.  In 1986 she was awarded first place in a National Grange sewing contest.

Marian is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ramon Reimer; her parents, Erhard and Marie Krehbiel; her brother, and his wife, Kenneth and Irma Reimer Krehbiel; her brother, Waldo Krehbiel, and her brother-in-law, Russell Taylor.

She is survived by her sister, Arlene Taylor of Eskridge, Kansas; her sister-in-law, Bertha Krehbiel of Corn; her three sons, Delane (Sandy) Reimer of Medford, Bruce (Karen) Reimer of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Krey (Krista) of Stillwater; six grandchildren, Travis (Lacy) Reimer of Medford, Lindsey (John) Brownlow of Stillwater, Kyle Reimer of New York City, New York, Kory (Keira) Reimer of Piedmont, Justin (Sally) Reimer of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Brooke (Brian) Livingston of New Bern, North Carolina; her ten great grandchildren, Paige Duffield, Jackson Reimer, Harleigh Reimer, and Sloane Reimer of Medford, Zachary Brownlow and Benjamin Brownlow of Stillwater, Annie Reimer of Charlotte, North Carolina, Harper Livingston of New Bern, North Carolina, Parker Reimer and Hayes Reimer of Piedmont, and many other relatives and friends.
