Eufrosino Lucas

January 1, 1956 — June 6, 2023

Ringwood, OK

Eufrosino Lucas passed away on June 6, 2023, at the age of 67 after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born January 1, 1956 in Zimapan, Hidalgo to Protacio Lucas and Juana Lopez. Eufrosino was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. One of the best.

He married his first wife Paz Rosalba who preceded Eufrosino in death in 1991. The two were married for 16 years and had two children, Miriam and John. Eufrosino would later marry Leticia in 1994 and was married for almost 29 years. Eufrosino and Leticia had two children, Hector and Mariana.

Eufrosino came to the United States in 1973 and would settle down permanently in Oklahoma soon after. He worked in the oil field industry for most of his life as a floor hand. Eufrosino loved his family, but he also loved to work. Even after retirement, he continued to want, and in many cases did, work.

All his life, Eufrosino worked hard to make sure his family had everything they needed. He would always tell his kids, “I’m working hard so that I never have to see any of you work as hard as I did.” He fulfilled that promise and continued to fight and work hard until his very last moments so that he could be with the ones who loved him.

When he wasn’t working, Eufrosino would spend his time tending to his animals, listening to music, being around family, or looking for something else to work on. He always had a sense of humor that never once left him. For instance, any time he’d sneeze in a room full of people and no one would say “bless you,” Eufrosino would say, “Algun dia yegare donde haiga gente.”

Eufrosino was a kind and caring man, never hesitating to help those in need. Everywhere he went, he left a lasting impact on anyone he met. Anyone who knew him, whether for years or just for a moment, would have only positive things to say about the man he was.

Eufrosino is survived by his wife Leticia; his daughters Miriam and Mariana; his sons John and Hector; three sisters; six brothers; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Paz Rosalba; his parents Protacio and Juana, and his two brothers Claudio and Felix.
