Winona Wolgamott

August 29, 1917 — January 18, 2013

HARDTNER-Winona (Nonie) Irene Wolgamott was born on August 29, 1917 south of Hardtner, Kansas, in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma to Jacob Willig and Mabel Fern Burroughs-Willig and passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Hardtner High School. On January 31, 1937, she and Kenneth (Shorty) Blaine Wolgamott were united in marriage in Sawyer, Kansas. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and worked for several years at the Farmer’s State Bank (The Peoples Bank) in Hardtner. She was an accomplished pianist and organist and played, and sometimes sang, for the St. John’s Community Church for over 70 years. She played for many weddings, funerals and other events.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth who passed away January 10, 2010, and numerous family members.

She is survived by one son, Gary Dean Wolgamott and wife, Sandra Jean Wolgamott of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one daughter, Judy Irene Wolgamott of Stillwater, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Doris Ames of Sedgewick, Kansas; four grandchildren, Thad Wolgamott and wife, Marilyn, Debbie Stewart and husband, Steve, Dotti Forehand and husband, Shannon, Amy Powers and husband, Josh; fourteen great grandchildren, Kenny, Tyler Ann, Tatum, Natasha, Nicole, Tyler, Bella, Maddy, Riley, Avery, Emma, Logan, Lakeley and Kenleigh; two great-great grandchildren, Cassi and Charity and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John Community Church in Hardtner. Burial will follow in the Hardtner-Elwood Cemetery.

Viewing at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm with the family present from 6:00-7:30 and at the church before the service from 10:30 am to service time.

Memorials may be made to the church and given to the funeral home.
