Wilda Jean Wing Springer was born December 13, 1944 in Hardtner, Kansas, the daughter of Joe and Bertha Brewer Wing and passed from this life on January 5, 2019 in Aline. She grew up and attended school in Hardtner. She met and fell in love with Kenneth Springer. They were united in marriage on August 25, 1961 in Alva. To this union five boys were born: Terry, Tony, Troy, Todd and Trent.
As a family they lived and grew up in Aline. Kenneth and Wilda owned and operated the Aline Meat Locker and the Aline Bar. After Kenneth’s death, Wilda became a CNA and worked for more than ten years at Fairview Fellowship Home. After she retired from the nursing home, she loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She worked for a few years at the Sod House Museum and loved visiting with the people who came in.
Wilda leaves to cherish her memory her five boys, Terry and wife, Deanna, Tony and wife, Mia, Troy, Todd and wife, Shawna and Trent and wife, Laura; eighteen grandkids; eight great-grandkids; one sister, Joann Curry; one brother, George Rhoades; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Wilda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth; her parents, Joe and Bertha Wing; six brothers; seven sisters; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Celebration of life service for Wilda will be Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Aline First Christian Church. Burial will be in Aline Star Cemetery.
