Twylah Jo Sanders

Twylah Jo Sanders was born June 5, 1934, in Freedom, Oklahoma to Joseph and Lillie (Phillips) Ferguson and the Lord called her home on August 21, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma.

Jo grew up in Freedom and graduated from Freedom High School. During her high school years, she enjoyed being part of the basketball team and was honored to serve as the 1949 Freedom Rodeo Queen. Jo had a passion for traveling, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.

Jo was united in marriage to Russel Dean Bradt, and to this union three children were born; Darrel, Thomas, and Rhonda. Later in life, Jo married Vernon Sanders Sr. and welcomed his three children; Vernon Jr., Virgil, and Vincent, into her family.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, Irene, Harold, Imogene, and Donna and her son, Darrel.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Vernon Sanders Sr.; her children, Rhonda Rodrick (Brett), Thomas Bradt (Terry), daughter-in-law, Becky Bradt; step-children, Vernon Sanders Jr., Virgil Sanders and Vincent Sanders. Jo is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Jo will be Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Helena with burial to follow at Waynoka Cemetery in Waynoka.  Family and friends are invited to return to the First Christian Church for food and fellowship after the graveside service.  Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena.  www.lanmanfuneralhome.com  Facebook:  Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
