Ted C. (Bud) Moore

Ted was born on January 4, 1933 in Oklahoma City to Ted R. and Kathryn Plummer Moore. He passed away February 23, 2026. He was raised in Waukomis, Oklahoma, graduating from high school there in 1951. Ted attended Oklahoma A&M College, where he was associated with the Sigma Nu Fraternity.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Darmstadt, Germany and served in the 62nd Military Police Highway Patrol Company. After returning from Germany, he attended Oklahoma State University for one year. Ted worked for Hackney Iron and Steel Company in Enid, Oklahoma, where he met Sadie Caroline Stricker. They were married in 1956, and in 1960 they moved to Medford, Oklahoma. Ted farmed and ranched near Clyde, Oklahoma, as well as in Kansas and New Mexico for 42 years. He also had a livestock trucking business.

In 1989 Ted was elected County Commissioner for District #1 in Grant County, an office he held for 14 years, retiring on January 1, 2003. Ted was a member of the Medford United Methodist Church, past director of Clyde Coop Association, lifetime member of VFW Post 5070, member of the American Legion, NODA, Wheatheart Nutrition, and the Oklahoma Cattleman’s Association. Ted loved sports, including golfing, owning and racing horses, football, and basketball. His biggest thrill was watching his grandchildren participate in sports, he was very proud of them.

Ted is survived by his loving companion, Adeline Petrik Boyer; son, Mike Moore and wife, Tonna of Fort Smith, Arkansas; daughter, Joan (Moore) Fetters and husband, Steve of Stillwater, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Josh Moore and wife, Jill of Harrah, Oklahoma, Zach Moore and wife, Brittany of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Austin Moore and wife, Lindsay of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Micah Moore and wife, Kayla of Durant, Oklahoma, Jeremy Fetters and wife, Alley of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Cody Magnus and wife, Miranda of Marietta, Oklahoma, Josie (Fetters) Cruz and husband, David of Yukon, Oklahoma, Taylor (Fetters) Edwards and husband, James of Midwest City, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Shelby, Kristian, Rance, Gracie, Caiden, Lucy, Oliver, Isabella, Amelia, Ella, Madison, Blakely, Kamdyn, Brooklee, Kynlee, Violet, Amen, Merci, and Prosper; great great grandchild, Sunderlynn.

Ted is preceded in death by his wife, Sadie (Stricker) Moore; father, Ted R. Moore; mother, Kathryn (Kak) Moore; sister, Betty (Moore) Harper; brother-in-law, Dr. Jack S. Harper; grandchildren, Nathan Fetters and Carter Alan Magnus.

Funeral service for Ted will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Medford Methodist Church, with burial to follow at Rosemound Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home in Medford, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Medford.
