Starla Schmidt

Starla Kay Schmidt was born to Glade and Arlyn Mininger Schmidt on November 14, 1954 in Enid, Oklahoma and was taken from this life by an automobile accident October 23, 2016 at the age of 61.
When Starla was twelve years old she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and was baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite on October 15, 1967 by Minister Reuben Koehn. The Faith was always meaningful to her. Even though her passing was sudden, we are comforted that she is safe in the arms of Jesus. Despite her failing eyesight, she cheerfully faced the future with courage. We, as a family, were blessed many times with her giving and selfless nature. There was a special bond of friendship between her and the families for whom she worked.
Those left with fond memories are her daughter, Nicole and Jason Schneider and their children, Jackson and Andrea of Nappannee, Indiana; her parents, Glade and Arlyn Schmidt of Goltry, Oklahoma; siblings, Susan and Eugene Schultz of Neodesha, Kansas, Judy and Sylvanus Peachey of Belleville, Pennsylvania, Randy and Grace Schmidt and Troy and Valerie Schmidt of Goltry, Oklahoma and her nieces and nephews who were special to her.
One infant sister, Ruth Ann, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Goltry with burial at Karoma Cemetery.
