Shirley was born on June 4, 1937 in Ringwood to Daniel and Susie Hamen Davidson. She had many brothers and sisters. Shirley attended Ringwood public schools and shortly after, she met the love of her life, Everette Pekrul. They got married on April 8, 1955, in Carwile and were married for 60 years before Everett’s passing. Together they had five children; Chuck, Doug, Rick, Felicia, and Terry. In her 88 years, Shirley had many positions in life but no greater position than being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She had thirteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Shirley enjoyed going fishing with her sons, her brother and sister, her monthly brunch dates and making her home-made banana nut and cinnamon bread and her apricot and sand plum jellies. Shirley always made sure to have a piñata at Christmas time for the grandkids to bust open! She had a kind heart and always had a smile on her face!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Susie; husband, Everett; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Cindy; six brothers, Don, Wayne, Ted, Danny, Jerry and John; five sisters, Velta, Valdene, Lorine, Velma and Kay; grandson, Isaac and a great-granddaughter, Madison.
Shirley is survived by sons, Chuck Pekrul and wife, Cindy, Rick Pekrul, and Terry Pekrul and wife, Julia; daughter, Felicia Schmidt and husband, David; one sister, Carolyn Mays and husband, Bill; two brothers, Boone Davidson and wife, Judy, and Max Davidson and wife, Beulah and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral will be Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith Center in Meno with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday, April 6, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family present.
