Scott Charles Armbruster

Scott Charles Armbruster was born on July 19, 1964, to Charles and Patricia (Miller) Armbruster in Kiowa, Kansas. He was welcomed into his Savior’s arms, free from Earth’s pain and suffering, on July 6, 2025, with his family by his side.

Scott grew up on the family farm south of Burlington, Oklahoma with his parents, two older sisters, Teresa (Harms) and Tara (Armbruster) and his younger brother, Curtis. His childhood was filled with all the excitement a farm boy could want: trail rides with his grandfather, Cecil Miller, adventures in the barn with his siblings, learning about farm life from his father, and getting into mischief with his siblings and cousins.

Scott attended and graduated from Burlington High School in 1982. He had many friends he still kept in touch with and shared a multitude of memories and shenanigans. After high school, he attended OSU Okmulgee to acquire his diesel mechanic degree. He then found work in Dallas, Texas, working for Dallas Area Rapid Transit. While learning to earn his keep away from the family farm, he was fortunate to have met his wonderful wife, Allison. They were married on June 3, 1989, in the middle of wheat harvest, much to Charles’s frustration. They lived in the Dallas area for a handful of years before returning to Oklahoma to raise their family.

Scott and Allison celebrated 36 years together this June. Through their marriage, God blessed them with their children, Sarah, Ashley, Heather, and Jonathan. Scott and Allison raised their kids to have a strong work ethic, a kind heart for people, a good sense of humor, and most importantly, a love for the Lord. He enjoyed watching with pride as his children worked hard in all they did from basketball games to showing livestock, from higher education to marriage and raising families of their own.

While they enjoyed the time spent raising their children, they were most excited about their next chapter in life, getting to love their grand babies. Scott’s most coveted title was Papa. Scott grew up very close to his grandparents as a child and he was very much looking forward to all the wonderful memories with his grandchildren, including Gator rides, a special treat from the C-store, and snuggles with a good book were all part of his job spoiling his grandchildren.

Scott enjoyed history, both of the family nature and of the world. He had a passion for researching family history and sharing all of his findings with loved ones. He had passion for aviation and flying small airplanes in his free time, enjoying God’s handiwork from above the clouds. He felt very passionate about family farming and instilling those values in his children.

If you had ever met Scott, you knew he could never meet a stranger or someone he couldn’t talk to, even if for hours at a time. He had a good sense of humor and could quote many movies at just the right moment for a good laugh.

Scott was a devoted member and deacon of the Kiowa Southern Baptist Church and felt strongly about teaching everyone that crossed his path about the Lord’s love for them. He helped guide many children through children’s ministry in the church. He prayed fervently that they would all seek out God’s love.

Scott is survived by his wife, Allison; his children, Sarah Becker and husband, Will of Yukon, Ashley Kelly and husband, Gunnar of Burlington, Heather Minson and husband, Jared of Ponca City, and Jonathan and wife, Ashton of Burlington; his sister, Teresa Harms and brother in law, Jason; his sister Tara Armbruster of Cherokee; nephew Andrew Cumbie (Heather), niece Erka Chapman (Matt), nephew Seth Harms; niece, Lauren Harms (Conner); grandchildren, Revie and Macklin Becker, Ava, Peyton, and Porter Kelly and Jay Minson; great aunt, Judy Martin (Stanley) of Flower Mound, Texas, Janice Simpson (Terry) of Ramona, California, great uncle, Tom Blue of Norman, Oklahoma; several cousins; great nieces, and nephews.

Soctt was welcomed home into Heaven by his parents, Charles and Patricia Armbruster; brother, Curtis Armbruster; niece, Emily Harms; several grandparents, and numerous other dearly loved family members and friends.

A celebration of life for Scott will be Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cherokee. Graveside service will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home of Cherokee.
