Sandra “Sandy” Merrill (Snider) Reimer was born to Edwin “Bud” and Betty Snider on January 4, 1954, in Oklahoma City. Sandy grew up with two brothers and two sisters whom she loved dearly. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1972 and Oklahoma State University in 1976 with a degree in Interior Design.
Sandy was a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. During her sophomore year, she went on a blind date with a Sigma Chi Fraternity member who said he shared her exact birthday. She didn’t believe him and insisted he pull out his driver’s license to prove it. This confirmed city girl fell in love with this lifelong country boy, Delane Reimer. They were married on March 1, 1980, in the middle of an ice storm. Soon after moving to the farm outside of Medford, she realized that her allergy to “elevator dust” meant something completely different in the country.
From the beginning of their marriage, Sandy worked alongside Delane in their custom harvesting operation, creating a beautiful life for their family. For 30 years, she supported the harvest crew through numerous roles. She served many meals in wheat fields while wrangling kids. There was always a parts run to be had with those Gleaners in the field and a fellow harvest mom who needed a listening ear. While not always thrilled by every mile of the harvest trail, she was committed to their dreams and cherished the many friendships formed along the way.
Her greatest joy was being Mom to Travis and Lindsey and Nanny to six wonderful grandchildren. She leaves an incredible legacy of kindness and love. She had a giving heart and shared it with many. She loved serving at church and in the community. She always had a smiling face and an infectious laugh. She loved sharing her home, especially during the holidays, and was known for her incredible cooking, heartfelt gifts and on-theme decorations.
She passed from this life on May 14, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. She is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Shirley Ellis, and her brother-in-law Larry Vowels
She leaves behind her loving husband, Delane of Medford, her children and their spouses, Travis (Lacy) Reimer of Medford, Lindsey (Johnny) Brownlow of Stillwater and her grandchildren Paige Duffield, Jackson Reimer, Harleigh Reimer, Sloane Reimer, Zachary Brownlow and Benjamin Brownlow. She is also survived by her beloved siblings and their spouses, Steve (Ivy) Snider, Suzy Vowels, Scott (Paula) Snider.
