Ronald Lynn Major born on August , 1949, in Enid, Oklahoma, passed away on June 8, 2025, in Enid. A dedicated family man and a respected veteran, Ron's life was defined by his service to his country and the love he cherished for his family and friends.

Ron proudly served in the United States Navy for 22 years, retiring in 1993. Throughout his military career, he was stationed in various locations, including Charleston, South Carolina; New London, Connecticut; Great Lakes, Illinois; and San Diego, California. He concluded his naval service at Puget Sound, Washington, where he earned a reputation for excellence and dedication to duty. After retiring from the Navy, Ron held numerous jobs, continually demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his loved ones.

A graduate of Enid High School in 1968, Ron pursued further education before embarking on his military career. Throughout his life, he exemplified the qualities of a best friend, a wonderful husband, a great father, and a loving grandfather, often referred to as "popo" by his grandchildren.

Ron shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Debi Major. After retirement, together, they lived in Ringwood, Oklahoma, Oceanside, California, and Washington State. Ultimately, their journey brought them back home to Ringwood. Ron and Debi cherished their time together, enjoying travel and various activities that strengthened their bond. He was not only Debi's partner in life but also her joyful companion, often driving her humorously “nuts,” and he remained her best friend through the many adventures of their lives.

His interests included his special Dachshunds, Neon Panther, Rambo, and Thor, as well as a passion for comics and coins. Ron's personality shone brightly, touching the lives of everyone around him.

Ron leaves behind a loving family that will cherish his memory. He is survived by his wife, Debi Major; children Marion Major, Ronald Major II and wife Kim, Shawnna Slanina, and Cory Major and spouse Hailee Vogel; and grandchildren Justin Alan Mitchell, Shawnna Slanina, Isaac Major, Chloe Major, and Shelby Major.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Lynette Major, his brother, Leon Robert Major, and his granddaughter, Destiny Slanina.

Funeral services for Ronald Lynn Major will be held on June 19, 2025, at New Beginnings Wesleyan Fellowship in Ringwood, Oklahoma,  at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow on June 20, 2025, at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma, at 11:00 AM. Ron's legacy will live on through the love and memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. 

Memorials may be made to the Crossroads Community Church - building fund.
