Roger Robison

Roger Dean Robison was born at the family home in Kiowa, Kansas on March 1, 1947, to parents, Estle Miles “Moon” and Gladys “Ione” Black. Roger passed away from this life on September 5, 2026 at the Kiowa District Hospital. It was a bittersweet day as he shared this day with his baby on her birthday. He and Janet Francis were married in Kiowa on October 11, 1974 and from this union they were blessed with three children: Paul, Shawna, and Nicole.

Roger was an avid fisherman and loved going hunting with his sidekick lab, Murphy. He was a jack of all trades who was a Master of Repairing anything. It may not have been pretty, but it would withstand a hurricane. Roger was a devoted and dedicated fireman for fifty plus years, and his family would have said the fire department always came first. He was a proud grandpa and enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports and activities. He would drive all the way to Nebraska to watch Tristan play basketball and football, only to turn right around and drive back home. He was always up to hearing about Tyler’s hunting and fishing adventures, and he was the biggest dance critique at Kenslea’s dance competition towards other competitors. He would also watch Trolls, Minions, & Frozen over and over with Brooklyn.

Roger’s legacy will live through the family he loved so deeply, the community he served and the countless memories he left behind. He will be missed more than words can say, but the lessons he taught, the stories he told, and the love he gave will stay with us forever.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, one brother, Jim Robison and two sisters, Ruth Cox and Jane Oxendine

Roger is survived by his wife, Janet Robison; children; Paul Robision (Alma) of Cimmaron, Kansas, Shawna Schupbach (John) of Kiowa, Kansas and Nicole Kraft (Kaleb) of Burlington, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tristan Kalvoda, Tyler Schupbach, Kenslea Schupbach and Brooklyn Kraft; one brother, Greg Robison and two sisters; Eva Bergren and Betty Throckmorton.
