Roberta Pauline (McCaskey) Morrison was born on December 5, 1934 in rural Major County to Bert and Icy (Wilcox) McCaskey. She attended Cheyenne Valley country school until the age of 14 when the family moved to Woodward, Oklahoma. Throughout her high school career Roberta was active in sports. She was an excellent basketball player and was awarded most valuable player two years in a row. Roberta graduated from Woodward High School with academic honors in 1952.
Roberta married Leroy Morrison in Woodward on July 21, 1954. They made their home in Woodward and later near Beaver Oklahoma, where they worked on cattle ranches.
In 1958 Leroy was drafted into the Army. They traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado for Leroy to complete boot camp. After boot camp they were stationed in Anchorage, Alaska for the duration of his military deployment. Once his military was completed, they moved back home to Woodward.
In 1963 they moved to Yukon, Oklahoma for Leroy to work at the Oklahoma City National Stockyards. Two years later in 1965 they moved to Helena Oklahoma, where they made their home for over 35 years. Roberta worked for the Helena Goltry Public Schools and was cafeteria manager for over 20 years.
It was no surprise she was cafeteria manager as everyone loved her cooking and especially her baked goods. She was also an active member of the Helena United Methodist Church. She was always willing to assist others with baby showers, funerals and vacation bible school. Roberta loved the Lord with all her heart.
In 2000 the couple moved to Breckenridge, Oklahoma for a short time and Roberta relocated to Enid, Oklahoma after Leroy’s death in 2002, where she remained until her death.
Roberta was known for her gracious hospitality. Her home was always open to family and friends. She loved cooking meals for her family and having Sunday dinners. She is remembered as fun-loving and always up for a good game of volleyball, croquet or horseshoes. She was an awesome wife, mom, grandma, sister, and daughter.
Roberta is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; her parents; two sisters, Patsy Stephens and Lavone Smith; one special aunt, Ila Bishop, and one special sister-in-law, Pam McCaskey.
