Roberta "Bert" Jean Martin

Roberta “Bert” Jean Martin was born to Jack and Naomi Murray Martin on December 17, 1954 at Kiowa Hospital in Kiowa, Kansas.  She departed from her family and loved ones on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in Wichita.

She graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, Oklahoma.  She was a long-time resident of Kiowa.  She spent her life feeding the community.  If you ever have eaten at The Ranch House, Your Place, or The Plum Thickett, she fed you.  Everyone knew her.  She was great fun to be around.  She loved to travel and go to concerts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Naomi Martin and her grandparents.

She leaves behind her husband, Scott Thurow of Kiowa; her aunt, Viola Hale of Enid, Oklahoma; her brother, Randal (Angela) Martin of Brownsville, Tennessee; a nephew; three nieces; fifteen great nieces and nephews; along with cousins and countless friends.

We will not mourn her death but celebrate her life.
