Price Poe

March 26, 2009 — May 24, 2025

Cherokee

Meet our boy, Price Allan Poe, who made us parents 16 years ago on March 26, 2009, in Enid, Oklahoma. Price started off his life in Waynoka with some amazing people who influenced him throughout his entire life. He then began his 5th grade year as a Cherokee Chief where he had just completed his freshman year.

Price was a full-on farm boy who loved all things outdoors including hunting and fishing whenever possible. He wasn’t afraid of hard work whether building fence, working cattle or hauling hay. Price was also quite the athlete playing football, basketball and baseball and excelling at all of them. He was also involved in a number of activities through 4-H & FFA especially showing steers and goats, pigs at a young age, and even a sheep or two where he found success because of his long hours in the barn. Price was also an active member of the Cherokee Methodist Church.

Through all of his activities, Price made many special memories with his family and friends. Some of the best times and memories were spent with family friends wake surfing at the lake or snow skiing and riding side-by-sides in the mountains.

Price had a heart of gold. He was an animal whisperer whether it be his show animals, his horse or the dogs; they all loved Price. But most of all, Price was the best kind of friend to have. He was kind, caring, funny, loyal and one heck of a good time. He was the kind of friend who, no matter what, always had your back.

Price was the ultimate big brother to Perry – built in best friend, wrestling partner, catcher of all the wild pitches, shooting hoops buddy and biggest supporter.

The impact Price has made in this world in his 16 short years is remarkable, and we could not be prouder of him. As one last act of kindness, he helped others by being an organ donor.

He is survived by his parents, Allan and Daresa Poe and younger brother, Perry of the home. He is also survived by his grandparents, Dorsey and Debra Redd and Jerry and Cheryl Poe all of Cherokee; aunts and uncles, Dana Redd of Aurora, CO, Jay and Kim Brewer of Tonkawa, and Kevin and Deleah Poe of Edmond; cousins, Madison, Monroe, Truman, Pierce, Lincoln, Brent, Brittni and Bailee, Hazel and Hudson. Price was blessed with many special classmates, teammates and friends who will cherish their memories with him.
