Norma Dean Campbell July 29, 1932 – June 21, 2025

Norma Dean Campbell, 92, of Helena, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1932, in Purdy, Missouri, to Leo Troy Hamilton and Georgia Elizabeth Wells.

She graduated as Valedictorian of Wheaton High School’s Class of 1950. While working for Boeing in Wichita, Kansas, she met Clyde Donald Campbell, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. The two were married on August 14, 1953, and shared 63 devoted years together until Clyde’s passing in 2016.

Norma was baptized at a young age and became a member of the Helena Christian Church when she moved to Helena with Clyde. She taught Sunday school when her boys were young.

Norma was the proud mother of two sons, the late William “Bill” Campbell and Larry Dean Campbell. She is survived by her son, Larry and his wife, Renee; her grandchildren, Mandy Parks (Josh), Jared Campbell (Veronica), and Logan Campbell (KaLanne). Norma was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, Sadie, Haley, and Kasen Parks; Ellie, Hazel, and Lucy Campbell, and Laney Campbell. The eighth great grandchild is on the way in August.

Throughout her life, she helped Clyde on the farm and faithfully kept everyone fed during harvest. In her early years of marriage, there were even tales of her pulling the wheat truck through the long lines at the co-op.

Norma enjoyed visiting with her friends and grandchildren, loved finding a good bargain, and was an avid sports fan—especially when it came to Oklahoma State University. She loved cheering on the Cowboys and made many fond memories taking vacations with her grandchildren to Stillwater and back to her home state of Missouri. She also enjoyed hosting or attending club with her friends, always looking forward to those special gatherings and the lifelong friendships they nurtured. The last two years she enjoyed her daily visits with her new friends at The Commons Nursing Home in Enid.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde; son, Bill, and her stepbrother, Gene Finley.
