Neilan Bruce Dietz, son of Floyd Thomas and Frances Irene Cox Dietz, was born at his grandparents’ home east of Cleo Springs on Easter Sunday, March 24, 1940.
Neilan went to Cleo Springs School and graduated with the class of 1958. He attended NWOSU and graduated in 1962 with a BS Degree in Mathematics. He taught school at Burlington and Enid and in 1966 went to work for Champlin Petroleum Company. In 1978 he found his way back to the farm and was engaged in farming and ranching for many years.
He and Marilyn Jane Martin were married on August 14, 1960 at the Aline Methodist Church. Marilyn passed away on September 21, 2012. Three years later Neilan moved to a home in Aline where he was presently living. He attended Aline First United Methodist Church. He was a board member of the Carmen/Aline and then Carmen/Aline/Cherokee Coops for many years.
He is survived by his children, Greg Dietz and wife, Kasady and DaNeil Garner and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Kolby and Kennedy Dietz, Kory and Katie Dietz, Karlee Dietz, Brianna and Trevor Watkins, Nicole Garner, and Kellen Bradford; brother, Mickey Dietz and wife, Carolyn; sister-in-law, Myra Turner and husband, Jerry; brother-in-law, Bruce Martin, and many nieces and nephews.
Those who preceded Neilan in death include his wife, Marilyn; his parents, Floyd and Frances Dietz, and an infant son, Michael.
