Myron Don Lubbers
March 28, 1938 – June 22, 2024
Myron Don Lubbers (Pops), age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 22, 2024. He was born at home in Okeene, Oklahoma, on March 28, 1938, to Dick and Martha Lubbers. Myron accepted Christ as his Savior as a young boy. He was a 1956 graduate of Okeene High School where he met his high school sweetheart who he married a year after graduating. Myron happily married Janice J. Winter on October 27, 1957, where they were the first couple to marry in the existing sanctuary at First Baptist Church of Okeene. They were joyfully married for over 60 years.
He worked at Industrial Machine Company for over 50 years, where he began as a bookkeeper before being promoted to General Manager. Myron loved working in his yard, watching OU football and softball, and lighting fireworks on 4th of July. He enjoyed watching animal shows and cooking, but his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Myron was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Lubbers; his parents, Dick and Martha Lubbers; two brothers, Lyle Lubbers Sr. and Harlan Lubbers; one sister-in-law, Dolores Winter; and one brother-in-law, Robert Leckey. He is survived by five children: Cathy Storm, Gregory Lubbers, Lisa Wall, Julie Lubbers-Davenport, and Cindy Strickland; their spouses: David Storm, Sherri Lubbers, Corbett Wall, Ronald Davenport Sr., and Wes Strickland; eleven grandchildren: Christopher Van Horn, Audrey Warner, Justin Lubbers, Shelby Strickland, Allison Storm, Anna Wagner, Olivia Wall-Pickel, Courtney Lopez, Joshua Lubbers, Jacob Lubbers, and Scott Strickland; five grandchildren-in-law: Andrew Warner, Robert Wagner, Kris Jon, Jon Pickel, and Freddy Lopez; four great-grandchildren: Gabriel Van Horn, Marijona Green, Anna Lee Green, and Julian Warner; two sisters: Phyllis Leckey and Carol Winterbank; four brothers-in-law: Mike Winterbank, Cleatus Winter, Don Winter, and Larry Winter; and three sisters-in-law: Ruth Lubbers, Peggy Winter, and Carolyn Winter.

Funeral service for Myron will be Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Okeene First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. in Okeene.
