Mildred accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and chose to join the Apostolic Christian Church in Burlington, Oklahoma in 1955.
In 1958 Joe and Mildred moved their family to Winfield, Kansas where Joe worked for Boeing and Mildred dedicated her time raising their three children. She brought joy to her family members and neighbors by making beautiful birthday cakes and quilts. Aways working with her hands, she made clothes for her children and always found something to do with her time.
After a year in Winfield, Joe and Mildred moved back to the farm in Oklahoma where Mildred loved being outdoors and being able to help Joe in the fields. Many Friday evenings were spent with her grandchildren for slumber parties and Mildred always loved when they were all together for holidays.
