Martha Koehn

Ringwood-Funeral service for Martha will be Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Fellowship Home Great Room in Fairview. Viewing will be Thursday at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite School from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Martha was born on December 7, 1929 to Dan Schmidt and Anna Boehs Schmidt in Ulysses, Kansas and passed from this life on February 15, 2017 in Fairview. Martha moved from Kansas to Oklahoma when she was a baby. Her childhood years were spent in the Isabella/Fairview area. Martha married John L. Koehn in Wellington, Kansas on December 10, 1945 and after marriage they lived in the Ringwood area. They had three children: Jerald, Maynard and Linda. Martha loved her grandchildren and being with them. Family was very important to her, especially family dinners. Cats came to mean a lot to her, and her favorite was “Miss Kitty.” Martha also love to feed the birds and squirrels and watching the wildlife around her home.

Those who preceded her in death include her husband, John Koehn; grandson, Matthew Meister; brothers, Fred and Frank Schmidt and sister, Ruby Koehn.

Survivors of Martha include her children, Jerald Koehn and wife, Evelyn of Fairview, Maynard Koehn and wife, Janice of Isabella and Linda Meister and husband, Doug of Ringwood; five grandchildren, Kathy Koehn, Stacey Wadel and husband, Kent, Chris Koehn and wife, Heather, Nicholas Koehn and wife, Tanya and Jarred Meister and wife, Nadia; eight great grandchildren, Tonya, Sharla, Jamen, Mindi, Jermey, Jordon, Mattie and Amira; one brother, Walter Schmidt and wife, Rose of Montezuma, Kansas and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Fairview Fellowship Home through the funeral home.
