Margaret Haury

Okeene-Funeral service for Margaret Esther Haury, 82, will be Saturday, January 5, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church at Okeene. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery,near Putnam at 2:30 p.m..

Margaret was born on January 18, 1930 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to James Albert Woodworth and Freda Krewson Woodworth and passed from this life on January 2, 2013 in Enid. Margaret was a college graduate with her Bachelors and Masters degrees. She married Herman Gerald Haury in December of 1953. Margaret was an elementary teacher and a music teacher, but most of all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She moved from Watonga to Okeene in 1994. Margaret was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church in Okeene, where she helped with AWANAS and was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union.

Survivors include children, Laurel and A.J. Van Ruitenbeek of Plano, Texas, Stuart and Denise Haury of Nicoma Park, Gerald and Melanie Haury of Okeene, Rose Haury of Arvada, Colorado and Mark Haury of Sydney, Australia; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth and Michael LeMay, Benjamin Van Ruitenbeek, Timothy Van Ruitenbeek, Philip Van Ruitenbeek, David and Danielle Haury, Laura and Cale Jorgensen, Holly and Paul Cannon and Erin Haury; three great grandchildren, Sophia and Averly Cannon and James Michael LeMay; brother, James Woodworth, Jr. of Houston, Texas and sister, Sylvia Enslow of San Jose, California.

Those who preceded Margaret in death include her husband, Herman Gerald Haury; her parents, James and Freda Woodworth; one sister, Nancy Woodworth and one grandson, John Jacob Haury.

Memorials may be given to the American Bible Society through the funeral home.
