Lynda Laurella Barnett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 16, 2025, at the age of 80.

Born on July 22, 1945, in Hardtner, Kansas, Lynda was the daughter of Laurence A. and Eunice (Hoefer) Schupbach. She grew up in Burlington, attending all twelve years at Burlington School and graduating in 1963. In 1967, she earned her bachelor’s degrees in English and Business from Northwestern State Oklahoma University. After graduating, she taught junior high and high school English and Business in Newkirk, Ponca City, and Marland, Oklahoma.

Lynda married Robert D. Barnett at their home in Burlington. Together, they farmed in the Burlington area from 1981 to 2000 and later operated Bar-S Farm Supply from 2000 to 2010. Lynda was an active and devoted member of Driftwood Christian Church.

Lynda is survived by her husband, Robert; four children: Cinnamon (Scott) Wheeler, Paul (Danielle) Barnett, Tony (Bonnie) Barnett, and Lisa (Robert) Baxter. She was a proud grandmother to Joshua (Kerith-Ann) Thornburgh, Savannah Thornburgh, Matthew (Pamela) Wheeler, Andrew (Rebecca) Wheeler, Destinee (Colby) Gann, Kobee (Allison) Barnett, Paxton Barnett, Dayton Murry, Bobbie Lower, Duncan Palmer, Devin Palmer, Haydon Palmer, Corrinna (Greg) Williams, and Robert Dakota Baxter. She also leaves behind her sister, Synda Bullard of Grapevine, Texas and nephews and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Brenda Schupbạch; Schupbạch uncles and aunts, Fred Schupbạch, Anna Hart, Elizabeth Horning, Opal Smith, Edwin Schupbach, Marie Alder, Lois Talbott, Reuben Schupbąch, Sylvia Lewis, Bud Schupbach, and Joan Lewis. Hoefer uncles were Floyd Hoefer, formerly of Buffalo, OK, and Robert "Bob" Hoefer, formerly of Burlington, OK.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Driftwood Christian Church, with Mr. Rod Rieger officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. www.lanmanfuneralhome.com. Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
