Joe Grimes passed away November 22, 2025 in Ozark, Missouri, after living with alzheimers for several years. Joe was born July 8, 1931 in ACH Hospital, Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was the third son born to Stanley Robert Grimes and Gene McCall Grimes, following Stanley Robert Grimes II and Donald Price Grimes, and grew up in Shawnee and Tecumseh, mainly attending Shawnee schools and graduated high school in 1949. He then attended Oklahoma A&M (OSU) and graduated in 1953.

He met his future wife, Carol Foster, and they married on August 17, 1963 at St Paul's Methodist Church. They welcomed a son, David McCall Grimes, on January 19, 1968. They spent many happy times on Dougherty Drive with family and friends. Joe would return to the FDIC and they would move to Jefferson City, Missouri, in 1973 and would relocate to Wichita, Kansas in 1978 before Joe would join the First National Bank in Kingman, Kansas. Joe and Carol would move to Springfield, Missouri, in 1991 where they would remain.
Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and traveling anywhere, especially Colorado, where the family enjoyed jeeping. They also made several trips back to Shawnee, especially for holidays where they enjoyed family and close friends. They also spent a great deal of time with friends in Tulsa, and friends made in Jeff City, Wichita, Kingman, and Springfield. Joe also enjoyed getting together with the FDIC crew.
