Jon Przybylski

Jon Phillip Przybylski, 53, was born October 7, 1963, in Crookston, Minnesota, to Ralph and Martha (Ebertowski) Przybylski. Jon passed from this life on Sunday, February 5, 2017, in Enid, Oklahoma, surrounded by his wife, daughter, and son-in-law.

Jon grew up in Argyle, Minnesota. He attended Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Elementary through the sixth grade. Jon graduated from Argyle High School in 1982. Throughout his senior year he also attended Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. He earned a degree as an auto body technician.

During the summer before his senior year of high school, he traveled to Oklahoma as a custom cutter for Stoltman Farms. While staying in Medford, he met Luann Keith. They kept in touch through letters and running up very large phone bills. Jon moved to Medford, Oklahoma in September of 1984. He began working at Adams Equipment as a painter of farm equipment. Jon and Luann were married on February 23, 1985, in Medford, Oklahoma. Jon began working at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in December of 1988. After 28 years, he retired on February 1, 2016. Jon and Luann have one daughter, Janelle Nicole, born April of 1991. Jon always expressed how proud he was of his daughter and her accomplishments to whoever was willing to listen.

Jon enjoyed fishing, gardening, golfing, and being outdoors. He was keenly interested in politics and the workings of the political system. He took great pride in his Polish heritage and was able to enjoy a trip to Poland with his sister, Evelyn, during the summer of 2015. Jon’s friends and family knew him as a witty, caring, and helpful man. His presence will be greatly missed by many.

Jon is survived by his wife of nearly 32 years, Luann, of the home; his daughter, Janelle Smith and her husband, Michael of Caldwell, Kansas; his sister, Phyllis Harris and her husband, Ken of Champlin, Minnesota; his sister, Evelyn Eastman of Rancho Mirage, California; his brother, Ralph Przybylski and his wife, Roberta of Roseau, Minnesota; his father and mother-in-law, Alton and Evelyn Keith, his sister-in-law, Telisa McDowell and her husband, Kevin all of Medford, Oklahoma; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Ralph and Martha Przybylski; his sister, Elaine Grein, and his brother, Joe Przybylski.

Funeral for Jon will be Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10;00 a.m. at Medford First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given in Jon’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project through the funeral home.
