Jo Taylor

Jo Anne Taylor of Naples, Florida, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017, while visiting her daughter and son in Denver, Colorado.

Jo Anne Azbill was born on January 9, 1929 in Ponca City and grew up in Cherokee. She graduated from Cherokee High School and then attended Enid Business School, where she later met her future husband, Fred R. Taylor. They were married in 1949 in Cherokee. Together, with their three children, Jo Anne and Fred moved extensively throughout the country from Boston, Massachusetts, St. Louis, Missouri, San Francisco, California and eventually retiring to Ponca City, Oklahoma. When Fred passed away in 2001, Jo Anne moved to Naples, Florida, a place she had vacationed in the past and felt a strong connection to.

Jo Anne was a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O) for the advancement of women, and child advocate for CASA. Above all, Jo Anne loved being with friends and family.

Jo Anne is survived by her cousin, Donald Brown; her daughter, Sunny (Marcia) Badock; her son, Fred R. Taylor, Jr.; her son-in-law, Timothy Logan; her granddaughters, Jennifer Logan-Meyer, Sarah Stone, and Olivia Taylor; her grandsons, Raymond Badock, Timothy Logan, Jr., Jason Badock, and Trey Taylor and her great-grandsons, Sol and Vincent Meyer.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Lenna Azbill; her husband, Fred R. Taylor, Sr. and her daughter, Terri Logan.

She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, and dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed.

Graveside service will be Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Viewing will be Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CASA for Children or the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O) in the memory of Jo Anne Taylor through the funeral home.
