Jimmy Reed

Funeral service for Jimmy C. Jimmy C. Reed was born May 13, 1960 in McAlester to Cotton and Gwen Reed and passed away on November 24, 2018.  He attended McAlester High School and graduated in 1978.  After high school he worked as a police officer, then moved to Cherokee and hauled hay and worked at the feed lot.  In 1987 he got hired on with the Department of Corrections at James Crabtree where he worked until he retired in 2010 after a heart attack.  Jimmy married Shannon Goss on August 1, 1998.  He became a father early in 1998 to Derek Cole McKinnon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon Reed of Cherokee; one son, Derek McKinnon and wife, Sierra of Alva; two brothers, Blaine Reed and wife, Jackie of Enid and Bill Reed and wife, Joy of Cherokee; numerous nieces; nephews; great nieces and great nephews.
