Ivan Renshaw

Cleo Springs-Funeral service for Ivan will be Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Cleo Springs Nazarene Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery west of Aline. Viewing will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Ivan was born on December 19, 1936 to Gene Renshaw and Pauline Melton Renshaw and passed from this life on December 11, 2017 in Enid. Ivan graduated from the Sulphur School for the Deaf in 1956. In August 15, 1958 he married Carolyn Smith in Enid. Ivan and Carolyn had two sons, Jerry and Randall. Ivan was a typesetter for a newspaper and after he went to night school to become a welder, he worked for Waldon and in the oil field. The last phase of his career was the House Director for the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services. Ivan had lived in this area for over 50 years. He served as an officer in the Oklahoma Association for the Deaf, a voting delegate for the NationalAssociation for the Deaf and was a charter member and officer for the “Happy Deaf Campers.” Ivan enjoyed fishing, welding and making metal art work. He also loved visiting with family and friends. Ivan and Carolyn traveled to over twenty states in their motor home with family and many deaf friends from all over the United States.

Those who preceded Ivan in death include his wife, Carolyn; father, Gene Renshaw; mother, Pauline Melton Renshaw and step mother, Ann Renshaw.

Survivors include his sons, Jerry Renshaw and wife, Jogay of Elgin and Randall Renshaw and wife, Lisa of Beaver; seven grandchildren, Malanda Renshaw Rust, Micah Huey, Nichole Renshaw Jackson, Jared Huey, Brandon Renshaw, Jared Renshaw and Ryan Renshaw; great grandchildren, Jade Jackson, Jorelyn Jackson, Raynie Renshaw and Jaxon Renshaw and brother, Keith Renshaw of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Memorials may be given to Deaf Missions through the funeral home.
