Hilda Crain, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma. Born on June 25, 1929, in Cleo Springs, Oklahoma. Hilda graced this world with her warmth, kindness, and a boundless love for family and friends.
Hilda devoted six decades to her beloved hometown. A proud member of the Methodist faith, she dedicated herself to the Jet Community Church, singing alongside her sisters from a young age and continuing her involvement with unwavering passion throughout her life. Her faith was not just a doctrine but a guiding light, as evidenced by her heartfelt gratitude towards those who kindly offered rides to church when she could no longer drive, always inviting laughter and camaraderie into these moments.
Professionally, Hilda was a tireless worker, first at Sears and then at Central National Bank in Enid. But it was in marriage that her true calling blossomed when she married her husband, Bill. As his devoted partner, she embraced the life of a farmer, showing her support by bringing him meals in the field. Together, they became known for their delightful adventures parading through town in their motorized bathtubs, moments that not only highlighted their playful spirits but also painted their life together with joy and laughter.
Hilda's creative spirit was alive in every stitch made on her sewing machine, where she spent countless hours crafting stuffed animals; adorable ducks, bunnies, and the infamous sock monkeys, delighting all the children in her life. Through her artistry, she bestowed upon them tokens of her affection, each creation stitched with love and a sprinkle of nostalgia.
She leaves behind her loving sister, Mabel Godfrey, of Rolla, Missouri, along with many cherished nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory dear.
Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents, Roberta Bell and Wherry Harmon; and her beloved sister, Martha.
A viewing will be held at Lanman Funeral Home in Helena, Oklahoma, on February 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A funeral service to honor Hilda’s remarkable life will follow on February 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Jet Community Church, with burial to follow at Timberlake Cemetery.
