Harry Neufeld

Enid, former Medford--memorial service for Harry Neufeld will be Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at Golden Oaks Chapel in Enid. A private family burial will be in the Mennonite Cemetery north of Medford. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Medford. www.lanmanmemorials.com

Harry was born on September 26, 1918 in Medford to John Neufeld and Agnes Schmidt Neufeld and passed from this life on December 23, 2015 in Enid. He received Christ as his Savior at a young age. He graduated from Oklahoma Bible Academy. Harry married Frieda Smith on March 12, 1944 at the West New Hopedale Mennonite Church north of Ringwood. Harry and Frieda were partners in their farming operation located northeast of Medford and both also worked in the ASCS office in Medford surveying wheat fields. Harry and Frieda moved to Enid in 1977. Harry continued to farm for an additional 25 years, driving back and forth from the farm and his home in Enid. He loved the farm - growing wheat and raising cattle. In 2004 Harry and Frieda moved to a small cottage at Golden Oaks Retirement Community. After Frieda's death, Harry moved to the assisted living area at Golden Oaks and lived there until his death.

Those who preceded Harry in death include his parents; his sister, Goldie Regier and his wife of 69 years, Frieda.

Survivors include his two children, Verlyn Neufeld and wife, Cheri of Shawnee, Kansas and Betty Ensz and husband, Larry of Edmond; seven grandchildren, Eric Ensz and wife, Sonia of Oklahoma City, Karen Lohman and husband, Todd of Shawnee, Kansas, Chad Ensz of Tulsa, Nathan Ensz of Lawrence, Kansas, Sara Boor of Edmond, Jennifer Shinabarger and husband, Mark of Merriam, Kansas and Kate Madrigal and husband, Richard of Kansas City, Kansas; ten great grandchildren, Catarina and Maria Ensz of Oklahoma City, Grace and Nick Lohman of Shawnee, Kansas, R.J. and Sophia Madrigal of Kansas City, Kansas, Saber Boor of Edmond and Natalie, Lillie and Hollie Shinabarger of Shawnee, Kansas.
