Cherokee-Funeral service for Harriett Nossaman will be Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Cherokee United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Duran and Rev. Les Washnock officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Harriett was born December 26, 1929 in Cherokee, the daughter of Harry Donald Robinette and Mae Eliza Johnson Robinette. She had lived at Servant Living Center in Medford from July 2012 until her death January 27, 2014. She was a graduate of Cherokee High School and Enid Business College. She and W. D. Scott were married March 24, 1961 and they had two children: Robin and Jeff. Harriett had an employment history that showed she was a busy lady. Her work career included Key's Drugstore, Smith Drugstore, the City of Cherokee, Hogue Oil Company, Dean Drilling Company and last but not least, the Fashion Cottage. She was involved in her community through the BC Club while in high school, ESA Sorority, Order of Rainbow for Girls, Brownie Troop Leader, Sarah Circle, United Methodist Women and very active in other United Methodist Church activities serving the Lord she loved.
Harriett is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Donald and Mae Eliza Robinette and one brother, Dale Robinette.
Survivors include her two children, Robin Harvey of Terre Haute, Indiana and Jeffrey Scott and wife, Joy of Pond Creek; five grandchildren, Jennifer Glover and husband, Brandon, Alexandria Harvey, Mitchell Harvey, Kelsey Scott and William Seth Scott; four great grandchildren, Brianna, Braxton and Clementine and Jayleigh; one sister, Donna Burk of Celebration, Florida.
Memorials may be made to Cherokee United Methodist Church, Hospice Circle of Love or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Alzheimer's Division through the funeral home.
