Harlan Nathan “Pete” Harmon was born on November 10, 1941, in Buffalo, Oklahoma, to Leonard and Ethel(Waugh) Harmon. The youngest of seven children, Pete grew up surrounded by family and the values that shaped his generous and spirited nature. He passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, following a brain hemorrhage caused by a recent fall.
Pete is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Don Harmon and Don’s wife, Geneva; his sisters, Ester Harmon, Wanda Johnson, Leona Kirkhart and her husband, Ernest, and Margie Faulkner and her husband, W.O. (Red); brothers-in-law, Warren and Earl Cloyd; sister-in-law, Verda Harding and her husband, Leonard; son-in-law, Leonard Callaway; daughter-in-law, De’Lene Frizzell Moore, and Pete’s beloved wife, Sharon (Cloyd) Harmon.
He is survived by his brother, Bill Harmon and Bill’s wife, Kay; sister-in-law, Rotha Comalander; daughter, Felecia Callaway; sons, Dennis Moore and Greg Harmon, along with Greg’s wife, Wilinda; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Also, the family extends heartfelt thanks to Ann Willits for her friendship with Pete and being there when he needed her over the past several years.
Pete will be remembered as a fun-loving and devoted father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He cherished time with family, friends, neighbors, and his coffee buddies. Known for his independent spirit and mischievous sense of humor, Pete had a gift for storytelling and a warm presence that brought joy to those around him.
