Gracie Iona McFarland Wichert

Gracie Iona McFarland Wichert passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, in Fairview, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. Gracie was born on December 16, 1936, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Earl and Ethel McFarland. She grew up in Garber, Oklahoma, and graduated from Garber High School in 1955. She attended Enid Business School. Gracie loved singing and toured with the Sweet Adelines. On November 26, 1963, she married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Wichert. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and love.
Gracie spent her life in Oklahoma before moving to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1986. She retired from Walmart Home Office in Bentonville, Arkansas in 2003. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who found joy in the simple things—her faith, her family, and time spent with those she loved.
She is survived by her children: Gayla Nelson (Jon) of Slidell, LA, Pamela Paine (Mike) of Ringwood, OK; David Wichert (Lisa) of Pea Ridge, AR; and Douglas Wichert of Pineville, MO. Gracie was blessed with six grandchildren Jillian (Warren), Rachel (Kevin), Sean (Alanah), Tyler, Austin (Presley), and Logan (Chassteen) and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Wichert; her parents, Earl and Ethel McFarland; and her brother, Merle McFarland.
A joint celebration of life for Gracie and Bob will be held at Faith Center Fellowship in Meno, OK, on Friday, June 13, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of two lives well lived.
