Glenda Mae (Bahm) Groves was born on September 15, 1929, and passed away on February 14, 2026 at the age of 96.
In 1945, at just 16 years old, Glenda met the love of her life, Don Groves. Their meeting marked the beginning of a lifelong love story. They were united in marriage on March 30, 1947, and shared a marriage full of devotion, partnership, and joy. Don and Glenda loved to dance together, a cherished pastime that brought them laughter, closeness, and countless happy memories.
Glenda lived a life defined by service, faith, and dedication to her community. She taught kindergarten for 10 years, nurturing and guiding young children during their earliest school experiences. She then worked at Smith's Drug Store for 29½ years, becoming a familiar and trusted presence to many. Following that chapter, she spent 26 years at Coles Flower Shop, before retiring.
At the age of 18, Glenda joined the Order of the Eastern Star and remained a faithful member throughout her life. She served as Mother Advisor for the local Rainbow chapter and later served two years as the State of Oklahoma Mother Advisor, mentoring and inspiring young women across the state.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Glenda spent 62 years as a devoted Sunday School teacher at First Christian Church, faithfully teaching and guiding generations of children and families.
Glenda’s grandchildren were the joy of her life. She spent countless hours supporting them in all they did, celebrating their achievements, guiding them through challenges, and filling their lives with love, laughter, and encouragement.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Gilmer and Marie Bahm and brother, Ivan.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Don; daughter, Sherri Parr; two grandchildren, Abby Fleming (Aaron) of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Eric Parr (Tina) of Yukon, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren, Collin (Ashley) of Conway, Arkansas, and Cale, Callen, and Camryn of Yukon, Oklahoma; and three great-great-grandchildren, Ella, Briggs, and Dawson. She also leaves behind many dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love and example.
