Garry Countryman, a dedicated family man, passed away on October 31, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on September 24, 1938, to Lester and Ruby (Bennett) Countryman, Garry led a life rich in love, adventure, and commitment to his family and profession.
Garry's career, spent diligently working in the oilfield, reflected his strong work ethic and dedication.
Above all, Garry will be remembered for his deep love for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pat Countryman, who stood by his side through life's many milestones. His legacy continues in his children: Debbie Meitl and her husband Charlie, Rhonda Scott, and Russell Countryman and his wife Tammy. Garry took great pride in his role as a father and grandfather. His grandchildren include Amanda Wittman and her husband Darin, Charity James, Erica Balko and her husband Bart, Samantha Gayle, Christina McMurray, Scott Countryman, Ashley Williams and her husband Jeremy, and David Countryman with his significant other Sage. Garry was also blessed with 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Garry's interests included leisurely activities that brought him joy, such as playing dominos and fishing, pursuits that he often enjoyed with family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ruby Countryman, his son Daniel Countryman, and his sister June Castille and brothers Jack and Bill Countryman.
A viewing will be held on November 3, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lanman Funeral Home in Kiowa, Kansas. A graveside service to honor Garry's life will take place on November 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Hardtner Cemetery in Hardtner, Kansas.
