Dwaine Junhanns

February 17, 1931 — July 31, 2017

Manchester-Graveside memorial service for Dwaine will be Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery north of Medford.

Dwaine was born on February 17, 1931 in Medford to Carl Richard Junghanns and Nettie Weins Junghanns and passed from this life on July 31, 2017 in Manchester. He was a lifetime resident of the Medford, Manchester area. His dad came from Germany when he was fourteen years old and homesteaded the land just south of the cemetery in the run. Dwaine graduated from Medford High School in 1949. In 1950 he married Nellyne Butts, and they had three sons: Royce, Carter and Kevin. In October 1985 he married Judy Gideon. His family gave his profession as a cowboy, farmer, rancher and cattle dealer. Dwaine enjoyed his horses, cattle, going to cattle auctions and anything that was in the country. He was quite the “junk food junkie.” Some of his specialties included bologna sandwiches with grape jelly, Little Debbie snacks and Mountain Dew, anything in which the main ingredient was sugar. Dwaine was very attached to his dog, Tabi. Dwaine was a member of the First Christian Church in Medford.

Those who preceded Dwaine in death include his parents; two brothers, Carl and William; one sister, Elsie Spradley and Judy’s daughter, Kim.

Survivors include his wife, Judy of Manchester; four children, Royce Junghanns and wife, Marla of Midwest City, Carter Junghanns and wife, Karen of Jenks, Kevin Junghanns and wife, Patti of Elgin and Kris Osborn of Enid; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren with one on the way and one brother, Eugene Junghanns of Van Nuys, California.

Memorials may be given to the Enid SPCA through the funeral home.
