Dustin Luther "Dusty" Graves

Dustin Luther “Dusty” Graves passed away on December 21, 2025, in Lake City, Kansas. He was born on March 27, 1977, to George and Diana (Torgerson) Graves in Kiowa, KS.

Dusty was raised on horseback from a very young age, a way of life he embraced wholeheartedly and never left behind. He often shared stories of riding alongside Ralph Root, Verlin White, and most importantly, his Dad, George; memories that reflected his deep appreciation for family, tradition, and the open range. He also had many stories of shenanigans on the ranch with some of his closest friends, most of which shouldn’t be repeated.

Dusty proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty and integrity. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a cherished grandpa, roles he held closest to his heart.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Diana Graves.

Dusty is survived by his wife, Kathy; his daughters, Preslee Graves and Mckenna Whitaker, Lauren (Connor) Parrish, and Ashleigh Gray; his father, George Graves; his sister, Stacy (Steve) Purviance; his niece, Reese; his nephew, Ridge; and his granddaughter, Nova.

Dusty will be remembered for his steadfast love for his family and friends, his service to his country, and his lifelong passion for the western way of life.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Lanman Funeral Home in Kiowa, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with family present from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Hardtner, Kansas with burial to follow at Hardtner Cemetery.
