Dorothy Fox

Evangeline Dorothy Clester Fox was born on the family homestead in Hitchcock to Virgil Orien and Ida Walker Clester on March 5, 1928. The family moved to Okeene where she attended school and graduated in 1948. She also attended Central State College, Edmond, OK.

Dorothy married Leonard LeRoy Crain in 1949. To this marriage, three children were born: June Crain Griffy, Garry David Crain and De Crain Wood. In 1964 she married Marcine Fox. They had one son, Marc Orien Fox. She also had one step-daughter, Marilyn Fox Ryan. Dorothy was baptized in 1938 in the First Christian Church of Okeene. She also attended The Faith Center in Meno. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and homemaker. In 1977, Dorothy and Marcine moved to the farm east of Okeene where she enjoyed raising chickens and tending to her large garden.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Iona Clester Stephens and her half-sister, Melba Clester Doshier.

In addition to her husband, Marcine Fox; four children and step-daughter and their spouses, Skip Wood, Carrie Crain, and Connie Fox, she leaves behind grandchildren, Virginia Griffy Barrow, M.D., Leslie Griffy Akerson, Linsi Crain Smallwood, Ross Crain, Dana Wood Hartfield, Traci Wood, Bryce Fox, Royce Fox and step-granddaughters, Michelle Buckner, Jennifer Shrestha and Melissa Dobrinski. She also leaves six great-grandchildren and nine step great-grandchildren and nieces, Kathy Stephens Swenson and Alicia Doshier.

Funeral service will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 at 3 p.m. at First Christian Church, Okeene with Pastor Mickey Moery officiating. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Monday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center through the funeral home.
