Dorothy Brown

Dorothy L. Brown was born in Cherokee on November 26, 1924, the daughter of Dr. James A. Brown and Florence Burr Brown. After her high school graduation, she spent two years in business school. She was a member of the Catholic Church and was very devoted to her church. She lived in Oklahoma City most of her adult life where she worked in banking. She loved her dachshunds and had two different ones. Dorothy enjoyed her family and often went to San Antonio, Texas to visit. She and her nephew, Mike watched football together. She liked to watch any sport.

She was preceded by her parents; one brother, Jimmy; sister-in-law, Octava Myers Brown and aunts, Lenna Azbil and Hazel Burr.

Survivors include her brother, Donald Lee Brown of Long Beach, California; nieces and nephews, James Michael Brown and wife, Stephanie of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Machele Brown Guin of San Antonio, Texas; great nieces, Aimee Guin Yowell and her children, Lilly and Ella Yowell, Brandi Brown Harry and husband, Chris and children, Hayden and Hudson Harry.

Graveside service for Dorothy will be Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
