Services for Donnie Keith Owens, 87, of Medford, will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Medford, Oklahoma, with Reverend Kateena Aebi Roberts officiating. Donnie was born February 28, 1939 in Haskell County, Texas to Edgel and Opha Morgan Owens, and died July 4, 2026. He married Wanda Cox on July 18, 1955 in Pampa, TX. He worked in the oilfield, cotton gins, and for R.L. Frailey company in Knox City, TX, which eventually brought him to Medford in 1959 to help build the Continental Oil Plant (Conoco). He later worked for Clyde Coop and farmed for Bill Bramlett. In 1987, Donnie and Wanda moved to Omaha, TX where he worked as a truck driver for his brother in law Walter Cox’s shingle manufacturing company. They returned to Medford in 1990 and he returned to Clyde Coop as a truck driver. Wanda passed away in June of 1995. Donnie married Donna Hickey Arthurs on January 23, 1999. They enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and many trips to Texas together. He retired in 2001 from Clyde Coop after 27 years. Donnie loved his family. He attended the Owens Family Reunion annually. He was proud of all his children and grandchildren and he always looked forward to their activities and visits.

Surviving are his wife, Donna of the home; children, Donna and Bruce Hammer of Medford, Julia and Keith Webb of Stillwater, Robin and Chris Herod of Medford and Kristi and Chad Cink of Medford; sister-in-laws, Linda Camp of Lubbock, TX, Mary and Kent Johnson of Canton, Bonnie Ellis of Turpin; brother-in-laws, Walter Cox and Linda of Dangerfield, TX, Jack Hickey of Hugoton, KS and Gary Hickey and Julia of Canton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Travis and Tiffany Hammer (Jordan, Kennedy and Carter) of Norman, Heather Hammer (Haylee and Nathan) of Medford, Donnie and Madesyn Webb of Dallas, TX, Katherine Webb (Karsyn, Kolby and Kytrell) of Stillwater; Thomas and Kristen McCabe (James and Logan) of Ponca City, Jarod and Ashley Owens (Faery, Sophia, Adelaide, and Rihanna) of Crookston, MN, Austin and Cami (Kensington and Beaudin) of Fargo, Kaden Herod (Grayson) of Medford, Brooklyn and Brady Palmer (Banks and Briggs) of Medford, Colton Cink and Sydney Cink of Medford, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Mildred Robertson, Marion Owens, Bob Owens, Helen Lowe, Patsy Mayfield, Kenneth Owens; infant brothers, Wade Malone and Benny Dee; first wife, Wanda Owens and son, Marion Keith Owens.

Memorial donations may be made in his honor to the First Baptist Church of Medford or Wakita Community Health Center and given to the funeral home for collection.
