Donna Wessels

June 15, 1931 — February 5, 2017

Cherokee-Funeral service for Donna will be Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at First Christian Church in Cherokee. Burial will be in Cherokee Municipal Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Donna was born in Meno June 15, 1931 to parents, Dan C. Jantz and Mary Johnson Jantz and passed from this life on February 5, 2017. She grew up in Meno and graduated from OBA. She and George F. Wessels were married at Grace Mennonite Church September 18, 1949 and made their home west of Cherokee. Donna was a homemaker and a seamstress in a leather factory. She loved gardening, sewing, making quilts and cooking for her family. Her grandchildren received unconditional love.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Cherokee and was very active in her church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; three brothers; three sisters; one granddaughter, Julie and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Wessels.

Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Don Wessels, Ron Wessels and wife, Cathy and Georgia Wilson and husband, Carl; grandchildren and their families, Jerry and Shanndee Wessels and their children, Kolt and Lindzee, Laura and Wynn Wade and their child, Harley, Ladonna and James Nichols and their child, Quinton Thomas, Carl and Korie Wilson, Jr. and their child, Zoey, Chad and Lydia Wilson and their children, Hayden, Morgan, Joslyn and Hudson, Cory and Ashley Wilson and their children, Colby and Colton; two sisters, Verna Regier and Carol Schmidt as well as other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to CWF through the funeral home.
