David Ritz, born on July 23, 1948, in Okeene, Oklahoma, left this world on August 16, 2024, in Norman, Oklahoma. David began his career as a band director at Carmen Dacoma High School. He later joined PSO, ultimately retiring from there. Following his retirement, David explored various endeavors, including dabbling in real estate while residing in Broken Arrow and contributing to the team at Reasors grocery store.
David's educational journey began with his graduation from Okeene High School in 1966, where he was actively involved in football, band, and drama. He furthered his studies at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, earning a degree in arts.
In addition to his professional commitments, David served in the Army Reserves for a number of years, demonstrating his dedication to service and community. He had a wealth of hobbies and interests, finding joy in traveling, gardening, fishing, and hunting, all of which enriched his life and allowed him to connect with nature and loved ones.
David is survived by his sister, Betty Spaeth of Woodward, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will cherish his memory and the impact he made on their lives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester David Ritz and Juanita Ritz, and his brother-in-law, Leo Spaeth.
As we remember David Ritz, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with the joy of music, service, and the love of family and friends. His legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Graveside memorial service will be Friday August 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery Near Okeene.
