Darrel Koehn

June 6, 1935 — March 14, 2015

Meno-Funeral service for Darrel L. Koehn, 79, will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hopedale Mennonite Church in Meno with Pastor James Suderman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 until 6:00.

Darrel was born on June 6, 1935 in Enid to Malvin Koehn and Audrey McIntire Koehn and passed from this life on March 14, 2015 in Enid. Darrel graduated from Lahoma High School in 1953 and from Phillips University in 1957. On July 10, 1955 he married Willa Mae Brakhage in Lahoma. They lived in Enid before moving to a farm north of Meno. On April 11, 1982 he married Lois Palmer in Jet. They lived in Meno until 2004 before moving to Enid. Darrel served in the 95th Army Reserve at Fort Chaffey, Arkansas and farmed with his father in Meno. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, Goju-Ryu Karate and competing in long range rifle bench rest competitions. Darrel also served on the Meno Volunteer Fire Department and Meno First Responders.

Survivors include three children and one stepson: Paula Collins and husband Richard of Lamont, Oklahoma; Brenda Schwarzlose and husband Bob of Plano, Texas; Darren Koehn and wife Cindy of Meno, Oklahoma; and Todd Palmer and wife Kathy of Edmond, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Morgan and Westin Collins, Brian and Adam Schwarzlose; step grandchildren, Candace Dally and Shae Williams, Josh, Deanna and Bryleigh Palmer and three step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois and parents, Malvin and Audrey Koehn.

Memorials may be given to Meno Volunteer Fire Department through the funeral home.
