Charles "Tom" Clark

Charles Thomas Clark was born on April 11, 1930, in Byron, Oklahoma, the son of Ralph and Nina Clark. He passed peacefully from this life on April 8, 2024, just a few days shy of his 94^th birthday.   Tommy attended Rock School, Byron School and graduated from Byron High School in 1948.  He married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Graham on October 1, 1950.  They were married for almost 74 years.  

He spent a short time in the Air Force, but he loved farming and being out in the field on his tractor.  He loved his family and his friends.  He also spent 16 years on the school boards of Byron-Driftwood and Burlington and was a member of the Byron Christian Church and Byron Baptist Church.  He spent most of his life living on the farm his grandfather homesteaded in the Oklahoma Land Run.  He and Phyllis moved to The Homestead in Alva in 2018.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Clark of Alva, Oklahoma; two daughters, Patti Beard of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Julie Wilkinson and husband, Keith of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sons, C.T. Clark and wife, Brenda, of Byron, Oklahoma and Randy Clark of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.   He is survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Tom is also survived by two sisters, Betty Stroot and Beth Smith.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Lou Williamson, and one son-in-law, William Beard.

Funeral service for Tom will be Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Driftwood Christian Church.  Burial will follow at Byron-Amorita Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee.  Viewing will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with family present from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  www.lanmanfuneralhome.com  Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
