Cecelia Irene (Armbruster) Castle passed away May 1, 2024, at her home at the age of 86. Cecelia was born to Walter and Irene (Schurter) Armbruster at her home near Burlington, on April 24, 1938. She attended Burlington School and graduated in 1956. After graduating, she attended Oklahoma State University where she graduated in 1959 with a degree in fashion merchandising and housing interior design. 

She married Richard Lee Castle on July 8, 1960, in Cherokee. They lived in Stillwater until Richard graduated from Oklahoma State University in December of 1960. Then they moved to Jet, Oklahoma where she was a homemaker and they farmed for 63 years. They began their farrow to finish hog operation with a sow they bought and brought home in the trunk of their car. During harvest she made incredible meals for the field. 

Cecelia was an active member of the Jet United Methodist Church and the Jet Industrious Extension Homemakers Club. She was an accomplished seamstress as she made clothes for her children and grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Irene Armbruster; sister, Charlene Ackerman and brother-in-law, Danny Ackerman; sister, Carolee Whitacre and brother-in-law, Bob Whitacre; brother, Charles Armbruster and sister- in- law, Pat Armbruster. 

She is survived by her husband, Richard Castle; daughters, Lisa (Terry) Cline, Gina (Kyle) Campbell, and son, Kent (Paula) Castle; thirteen grandchildren, Jordan (Kylie) Franz, Cecely Franz, Aleysa (Dalton Rose) Franz, Kylee (Adam) Alexander, Kale Campbell, Kole Campbell, Kord Campbell, Kortney Campbell, Kreed Campbell, Colton (Lindsay) Castle, Kristin (Chase) Craig, Kayla (Trenton) Grimes, Kelsey (Dillan) Schoonmaker and eleven great-grandchildren, Emma and Jimmer Franz, Erin and Eloise Alexander, Daniel Castle, Kinley, Sophie, and Jaxon Craig, Keaton Grimes and Ava and Addison Schoonmaker.

Her celebration of life will be held at the Jet Community Church on May 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with the graveside service to follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Viewing will be Monday, May 6, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00p.m. with family present 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Cherokee. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Jet Community Church.
