Bob Van Osdol

Bob Van Osdol, age 91, passed from this life peacefully on October 6, 2021 at his home in Owasso. He was born February 24, 1930 in Jet, Oklahoma to Ralph Van Osdol and Lovest Van Osdol (Stover). On April 6, 1951, he married his beloved wife, Dorothy Van Osdol (Lance) and they had celebrated 70 years of marriage. Bob graduated from Jet High School with the class of 1948. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Education from Northwestern University in Alva, Oklahoma, a Master’s in Education from Adams State University, Alamosa, Colorado and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho. His hobbies were hunting, music, and his grandchildren.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lovest; his brother, James Van Osdol, and his nephew, Jeff Van Osdol.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of the home; brother, Bill Van Osdol and wife, Beverly; son, Kelvin Van Osdol and wife, Ellen; daughters, Teresa Gleghorn and husband, Mark, Renda Jones and husband, Matt; grandchildren, Travis Alumbaugh and wife, Cindi, Tracy Alumbaugh, Paige Banaji and husband, Edul, Kyle Jones and wife, Katie, Brian Van Osdol and wife, Angela, Dennis Jones and wife, Megan and five great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service for Bob on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery near Jet. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee. There will be no viewing.  Facebook:  Lanman Funeral Home Inc.
