Barbara Cink, cherished wife and beloved matriarch, passed away on September 12, 2025, at Baptist Village in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. Born on January 9, 1943, in Anthony, Kansas, to Virgil and Alma (Henderson) Richard, Barbara dedicated her life to her family and the land she nurtured.
Barbara was a remarkable caregiver, exemplifying her role as both a wife to her devoted husband J.R. and a loving mother. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, and she took immense pride in raising her children, who, along with her four grandchildren, brought joy and purpose to her life. Barbara's legacy will continue through her husband J.R.; daughter Ashley Cink; grandchildren, Lindsay Cink and her husband Dakota Blaese, Ben Cink, Jake Cink, and Elisa Cink. Her faithful companion, a loving dog named Cooper, will also miss her dearly.
Known for her spirited personality, Barbara was not one to shy away from expressing her feelings. A memorable anecdote from her life showcases her ornery sense of humor, particularly when it came to punctuality. When J.R. was late for supper, she humorously taught him a lesson by serving his favorite meal to the dogs an act that reflected her playful yet affectionate nature.
Throughout her life, Barbara was known for her multitude of interests. She embraced the joys of farming, taking pride in cooking, helping with harvests, tending to her garden and chickens, and relishing the simple pleasure of fishing. Family adventures brought her happiness, especially riding ATVs in Colorado, where unforgettable memories were made alongside her loved ones. One of her fondest memories included zip lining at the remarkable age of 80, demonstrating her adventurous spirit and zest for life.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Alma Richard, her son Bradley Cink, and her brother Virgil A. Richard. Their memories remain etched in the hearts of her family, who will forever cherish the love and guidance she provided throughout her life.
A memorial graveside service to honor Barbara Cink will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, starting at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in rural Grant County. As we reflect on Barbara's life, we are reminded of her strength, humor, and deep love for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a great wife, mother, and friend.
