Edward "Eddie" Rhea

February 22, 1974 — May 25, 2019

Medford

Edward "Eddie" Gene Rhea of Medford, Oklahoma passed from this life on May 25, 2019. He was a loving husband and father to his wife and children. He was a wonderful friend to many and knew how to make people laugh. Eddie was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Mickey and Joan Rhea on February 22, 1974, after his older twin brother (by four minutes), Kenneth. Eddie attended school at Deer Creek Lamont and graduated in the class of 1992. He participated in football, band, and track. Growing up, he met his best friend, Jason Stone and kept in touch for 27 years.

Eddie had his first daughter, Makayla Dawn Howard Shed on October 28, 1997. Eddie was married to the beautiful Deresa Ann Duckworth on December 6, 1997, and their adventures together would only grow from there. While living in Caldwell, Kansas, he worked as a butcher for the local grocery store. Not only did they have their first child together, Andrea DeAnn, on June 9, 1998, they also brought home a tornado two days later. The year 2000 rolled around and they brought forth another child who was as ornery as Eddie, Aerin Elizabeth, on February 11. On July 19, 2001, the couple’s third daughter, Abbalynn Kathleen, was welcomed into the world. He started his career as a welder for the BNSF Railway in 2004. On January 26, 2010, they gave birth to their “favorite” and only son, Mickey James. The Rhea family claimed Millie JoAnn Jamison on October 15, 2010, as their own.

Eddie had a huge passion for playing music. He was in numerous bands during his life: Mike Boxley (80’s), Border Bandits (old country), Line Change (red dirt), Missfire (red dirt), The Stockyard Playboys (red dirt), and The Lost River Band (country). He became interested in fixing up steel guitars and amps for many people across the United States. He enjoyed watching his children in band and sports. He loved jamming with his wife and close friends. Eddie loved making his family smile by creating inside jokes, telling childhood stories, and teasing his wife about burning the taco shells. As for outdoor activities, he took his family camping, fishing, and targeting.

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Kathlene; grandmother, Ethel Marie Rhea; Kenneth Rhea, Edward Clark, Ruth Madelin Clark, and some close friends.

He is survived by his parents, Mickey and Joan Rhea of Medford; brother, Chris Foster and friend, Jana Boyer of Medford; brother, Kenneth Rhea and wife, Lisa of Tonkawa; sister, Rebecca Day and husband, Jerry of Indiana; wife,, Deresa Rhea; daughters, Makayla Dawn Howard Shed, Andrea DeAnn Rhea, Aerin Elizabeth Rhea, Millie JoAnn Jamison, Abbalynn Kathleen Rhea; son, Mickey James Rhea; eight brothers- and sisters-in-law; fourteen nieces and nephews; three grandchildren and two pets.
